Mission accomplished everyone, I managed to ride to Winter,Minnesota with Wallygator and WallygatorJR last Saturday. A previous post by 95xcr600 riled my interest and I developed an obsession to ride there

As it turned out, my TOPO software for my Garmin GPS showed exactly where Winter, Minnesota was located in an area I spend most of my riding season.

Last Saturday we headed out from the Knotted Pine near Isabella, Minnesota with 6 sleds in the group about 9am for our destination. A couple of guys in the group had a bad start to the day, both had engine meltdowns less than 10 miles out. After making sure they were back to camp, Wallygator, WallygatorJR and myself finally were back on trail heading to our destination

Here are a couple of pics of snow conditions in that area....

Then, as usual, we ran into Ditch-Banger and his group in the absolute middle of now-where. Go figure, that is where we always see him and the guys

We also noticed that Shane in his group had picked up a hitch-hiker, she was reprtedly the last know resident of Winter! She was down to her last $10 and was desperate for a ride away from town

As it turned out, it was only about 1/2 mile away from where we ran into Ditchbanger and the guys was where Winter is located. The 1st pic is on main street looking Northeast of town...

Next pic is down mainstreet looking southwest...

This last pic is one of my favorites for the weekend, it is of the Community Recreation Center to the southeast of mainstreet

Overall it was a good ride, still managed a 100 miles after a slow start but the day was very relaxing!

It's all about the ride to get there, the destination doesn't matter!

Hmpf... just as I figured... nothing left. But, on the bright side, it looks better than I expected it to right now. I wasn't expecting that kind of snow coverage. I sure wish I could have gotten up there to join you guys on the ride. I've got less than 200 on so far and there isn't any snow worth riding around here.

Anyway, I thank you kind sir for making my obsession your obsession and providing me with pics of the area. It certainly looks like a great spot for a little out of the way cabin for weekend get-aways... IF I could ever get anyone to return emails/phone calls about land ownership! If things continue the way they have been around here, I may end up just moving up into that area soon!

Again, thanks for the pics. One day I hope to get up there again so I can see it all for myself... and to ride where there is actually snow on the ground!

Not so long ago, a deranged, ranting person's audience was limited to how many people happened to be on the same street. The Internet, however, has certainly allowed "crazy" to go global...

When we first seen you guys coming down the powerlines, we thought. . . who else could that be but you and Wallygator exploring the backwoods.

This is usually how we run into you guys. Always some out of the way place far from any trail.

Lots of deep snow in the backwoods!! Shane managed to get his Nytro stuck 4 times this weekend.

I love the photos 2SE.
