a slight lighting bug:

you'll be goin down the trail at night, the lights brigh as hell, then it will dim realllllllly low for from a minute to 5 minutes, then it will go bright again maybe if your lucky the rest o the night or it will go dim again right after. I think it might be the coil goin out but my dad differs. Anyone else have a clue?

I was having the same problem. When i was prepping my sled in the fall i had very dim lights. After 10 minutes of riding on our first trip i had great lights, and they never acted up. It was the same thing last winter. When we rode around here they started acting up, bright, then dim for a while, and then bright. One night they got better and worked for a day or two fine. Our trip up last weekend i had the same thing. They worked some, other times i had no lights or hand warmers. My low beam went out, and after that i never had a problem. I dont know what happened to my low beam but i had no problems after that. I was thinking about a voltage regulator, but its been like this for at least 2 years and just recently got worse. I think if it was the regulator itd be gone all the way by now.

yea its really frustrating when you can see perfect on the trails then its goes dim enough you cant see ****, my buddy said it might be the magneto but ill check the voltage regulator, not a huge problem right now b/c after this weekend, i think the snow will be gone in my part on wisconsin. Im goin thru all my wiring this summer and putting a new thumb warmer on it and checkin for bad grounds

Hey, mine did the same thing, minus the low beam burning out, mine was the regulator.
