Just looking into tracks right now probably going to buy sometime in the off-season. I see Camoplast Ripsaw, which is real popular. I also see Kimpex Shotgun X, which I don't hear too much about, but is about $200 cheaper on average. (Tracks USA has Ripsaws for pretty cheap, will be watching them)

What is the biggest difference between the 2 tracks other than weight? Both have similar lug designs and I would be looking at the pre-drilled 144 tracks.

Any warnings about the Kimpex? Why aren't they as popular??

Kimpex makes affordable stuff but you get what you pay for. There stuff looks real cheaply made when you compare it to a name brand item.

I've read about people who say they tend to get prematurely destroyed on higher HP sleds. Lower HP sleds seem to be fine. The more I read the more of a toss up it seems though.

I have a Kimpex on my Formula 3. I have no complaints about it...I haven't ridden it that much though. I believe ACM has Kimpex on his ZRT and hasn't had any problems.

I have a Kimpex shotgun-x on my 600ho sdi, the only reason I went with the Kimpex was because I needed a track and I could get it that day. I put the track on at the beginning of this season and I now have 1500 miles on it and there have been no torn lugs or really any sign of bad wearing. My sister's boyfriend has a 07 600ho sdi with the 1.25" ripsaw with 96 picks and my track without picks hooks up just as well has his. I do alot of aggressive trail riding along with off trail riding and it seems to do well in both, but if I had to do it all over again I would have boughten a 1.5" ripsaw. But I would not hesitate to buy one again, good luck.

Last year when I had my Mach Z I put a Kimpex Shotgun on, regular not the "X" track after learning about it from ACM. I rode half of the season on it and never had any problems at all. II saved a lot of money too. I think the "X" version is a lighter version of the track not sure though. I am looking for a new track for my ZL600 and I was going to look for a KIMPEX to save a few bucks and because I have used one before and had no problems.

As a few have mentioned I am running a Kimpex Shotgun track. It is 7 less lbs than the ripsaw of same size and you mentioned it, less expensive.

I have 1000 miles on the track and the rubber nipples are still on it. No lug wear whatsoever. Oh, I am not running the "x" version, just the regular version.

I have no doubts in this tracks durability.

I did alot of research after I bought the track online and there were many people that were running it on other forums that had a ton of trouble free miles.

Ditto to what Matt said. I've got right around 1000 mi. on my shotgun and it looks almost as good as the day I installed it. I will admit I bought it for the price, but I am totally happy with the performance.

I bought the Kimpex Shotgun last spring, because I was really impressed with it's performance on Bear1's sled.
And the price of course.
I've only got 645 mile's on Mine so far, but it still look's Brand New.
Kind of funny how the vast majority of people who talk down Kimpex product's, have very little or no personal experience with them.
I also put Kimpex Plastic ski's on the same sled this year, and I actually like them better than the C&A's that are on My other sled.
They are every bit as High of Quality as the C&A's, and cost Me about half what new C&A's would have.
