I'm wondering how much horsepower I will actually get from triple pipes. My sled is a 2000 yamaha sxr 600. is it really 16-18 like advertised? Also how much faster will it make my sled? is it worth it?

You will have to rejet when changing pipes.

When jetted and properly tuned aftermarket pipe do not make your engine run hotter, as for shortening the life of a motor yeah that is a possibility if its not setup correctly, also different pipe manufacturers HP gains will vary, what SLP claims for gains from their triple pipes on a mono block 600 polaris will differ from the given set of pipes put on a 600 yamaha triple, it will depend on who's pipes they are, there is a whole lot more involved that just believing what the pipe makers want you to believe and what the actual truth is.
