    polaris ultra thermostat questioln.

as most of you know i am putting the ultra motor in my iqr. i was wondering if the thermostat is necessary for the ultra motor. can i leave it out of the iqr or do i have to find a way to jam that in there? if i dont use it what would be the problem with it? or will it be fine?

The Ultra's didn't have a thermostat so I don't think you need it.

Stormy your right about the ultra having 1..... I don't know if you can ditch it or not.. W/O the thermostat the sled would take a while to warm up......no? I dont know if, or what other issue it may cause....... Interesting!

I know my ultra did. If I can get away without it I won't use it. It is already so crammed in there I would have a hell of a time making that fit as well.

Neither one of my 96 Ultra's have a thermostat. Stormy I believe yours was an SPX, correct? I don't think there was much of a difference in the motor itself. Not sure why some have the stat and some don't.

Weird... My '96 SP has 1.... But, it is from a newer machine.... not factory for my Ultra.... Why would some have 1 & others not?
