    I am selling my 1996 Zrt 600 and getting a 2001 Zr 800.
2001 Zr 800 has Black Magic pipes, Clutched. V force Reeds,
    has traction.
1996 Zrt 600 is clutched, silencer, has traction.
Which one would win in a long race and a short race?
    Which one is faster?

If the 1996 Zrt 600 is faster than the 2001 Zr 800 i will be keeping the 1996 Zrt 600. If the 2001 Zr 800 is faster i am gonna buy the 2001 Zr 800.

Either way the 01 ZR will ride/handle better...The ZR will be a easy 100+mph sled

could be close because the zrt is clutched but otherwise the 800 should beat it no problem.

It depends how well maintained these sleds are and if there both geared for racing..but overall the Zr should pull away in a long race and the zrt should be faster in say 400 or 600 feet

They are both really quick sleds when set up right. I believe the 600 triple is in the 120 - 124 Hp range. I do know the ZR 800 has 141.1 HP at 7400rpm and 102.1 pounds of torque.

    Cheers

zrt 600 is also an 100mph plus sled(and probly the 96 zrt 600 is the altime leader when it comes to the so called baby triple motor's)

my zrt is mint, 107 mph on radar, pulls at 8400-8700 rpm. out of the hole smacks 440 and 500's and usually takes most in 660 ft, thats stock. i love it, sounds nice and has a lot of power. solid motor also. i know i wont let it go ever.[]

I drove my new 2001 Arctic Cat ZR 800 the other day. I think the ZR 800 will win all the way i was very amazed on the performance and the power on this sled. I like the 2001 ZR 800 alot better than the 1996 ZRT 600.
