My brother and myself were out riding last night and his phazer ran and started perfect. This morning he tried to start it and all you get is a clicking sound on the battery side. The battery doesn't seem to be down, you can hear the fuel pump and fan, they sound normal. Anybody have a similar problem? Does anybody know what the problem could be? Thanks
Are you serious?
???? WTF, yes I am serious. Whats the problem??Originally Posted by flatlander_summit
hahaha dude its like whena car clicks...just bang onn the starter or solenoid...it just could be a bad connection from the battery to starter....
OR HERES AND IDEA....just use the pull start!
IF YOU CANT PULL IT YOU CANT RIDE IT!...even my mom can pull over her '08 switchback 600
Stop and think, either it's the battery that is too weak, which will likely still run the fuel pump, but doesn't have enough cranking amps to turn it over. Or the solenoid isn't engaging, tapping on it should help.
hey dinkis 4 strokes dont have pull starts.....(sleds that is)Originally Posted by MN_SlEdnEck
and as said its either a bad connection a bad solinoid or lowish battery power
Make sure the battery is fully charged. Like one of the other guys said it probably has enough power to run the fuel pump but not quite enough to turn the engine over. You'll also want to be careful with that sled that you warm up the sled good before you shut it off, if not it can foul the plugs. This I learned from experience.
Just to clearify, when you turn the key to start, it clicks once. It does not make several clicks or continue to click until you let go of the key. And no the sled has no pull start. My god man, don't you think we would have tried that!!
happens to me. turn key on, you can hear the pump cycle turn the key and click. correct? take the side panel off and by the fuse box you can by pass the starter with a screw driver
How would this fix the prblem? Why the hell is it doing that anyway???Originally Posted by 580mountaincat
