mxz 440
Posted December 9th 2007

hey guys im 14 and i wanna buy my first sled and i founnd a 1998 mxz 440 but it has low compression in one cylinder. the good cylinder has 115 psi and the bad cylinder has 70 psi. the guy that is selling it(says hes not mechanically inclined) says he took the carbs off and looked inside and he said it looked like the cylinder was scored a little bit. could this be the problm for the loss of compression?
if so how could i fix it? would i have to bore it out and go oversize or could i get just a new cylinder or could i get it resleeved with out boreing it out?
he wants 1000 bucks for the machine and it still runs just wont idle he has driven it and everything it also needs a bumper and an idler wheel. it has 5338kms. would this be worth the time and money to be fixed or should i just find another sled that runs? i want an mxz thats why i want to find all of this out.
any help would be very much appriced.
