Snow is on it's way

Just checked the National Weather Service's forecast for my area, they have a Hazardous weather link at the top of the page. So I clicked on it, and much to my surprise they are calling for a significant snow this coming weekend. Normally I would be all but I have to work this weekend, so Hopefully The snow (if we get it, after all this is Indiana and the weather changes 7 times every hour) stays around long enough for me to get the rev out for a test ride
Well fellow fanatics and bloggers, have a good day. Remember to pray for it to snow early and often! I have 2.5 hours left here at work, Then I get the next three days off.

Update 11-20-07
Posted November 20th 2007

Well I was able to get the tunnel extension installed along with the gade lugage rack and cooler cover, I also found out that the stock 500ss rear bumper is about 2 - 3" shorter than the gade rear bumper as you will see in the pictures. I am going on a search for a new or used gade rear bumper as this is simply going to drive me nuts. anyway here is the updated pictures.
Oh and I know I really need to wash/shine her up so that the blacks match.
 Project Complete for now

PS: how do you like my redneck wiring...LOL I'm glad that is going away in a few years.

Rails extended, Track back in!
Posted November 12th 2007

I finished putting the newly extended skid and track under the rev. It was a long process to do while working on it by myself. I was able to get the track out today, Install the rail extensions (after some filing to get the stock rails to match up with the rail extensions), The 136" track and driven shaft is back in. I was then able to bolt the PTO side bearing carriage in and then put the chaincase back on. Once I got the chain case closed back up, I decided that I'd try to get the skid under the sled.
Unfortunately for me, once I got the skid under the sled I decided that I'd better bolt the skid in so that I could lower the sled down, as it had been hanging for a good portion of the day. Finally at 2:54 a.m. I was able to step back and look at this

I still have to put the tunnel extension on but I am going to wait for the new lugage rack to arrive. This will allow me to check the fitment of everything before I start drilling holes for the rivets.
I'll be sure to post an update in here once the luggage rack does arrive and then again once I get everything finalized. Until then Have a great day. it's 12 minutes till 4:00 a.m. so I'm going to bed now.

Started working

I started working on my track extension project tonight, I haven't made a lot of progress as I quickly found out that my allen wrench set doesn't go up to the size that I need to pull the suspension out.
so far I have the chain case apart, some of the suspension bolts loose, the trunk is off of the back, the lugage rack has been removed, and I drilled out the rivets for the snow flap.
Tomorrow when I get up I will be making a trip to my brother's house to get the right allen wrench. Then I will be pulling the rear suspension and the drive shaft. Once all of that is out I will start on tearing the suspension apart so that I can add the rail extensions on.
Then I can start putting everything back together. Here's some pics so far, I'm still planning on doing a How To which will be located in the articles section of the forum (when I am completely done that is).

Track Showed Up Today
Posted November 9th 2007

I got word from my Wife earlier tonight that I had a big present waiting on me at home (ericks old 136" track), then she went on to ask how much it was. I simply replied it was enough.
I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get home to take some. The only bad thing about hearing that new parts are waiting on you at home is the night seems to drag on forever once you hear it.

So we as a state (Indiana) are observing Day light savings time, well today was the roll back day (02:00 am, roll clocks back to 01:00 am) this just made my 20 hour day into a 21 hour day with a 1 hour drive home .
On a up note when I arrived home from work yesterday there was a nice little box waiting for me in the garage. My rail and tunnel extensions finally arrived from Tracksusa. I must say they have some of the best service I have ever seen!!!! I odered the parts Wednesday afternoon and recieved them on Friday!
More parts are to arrive on Monday, so I'll get some pic's up for you guys soon.
Well fellow bloggers, I hope you have a good Sunday.

Well I decided that since I was going to be extending the tunnel out, that maybe I should look into how exactly I was going to bolt my tail light back on with the new tunnel extension. So I got inventive and did a little research to find that for about 140.00 I could buy all the parts that I need to put the renegade luggage rack on my sled. this should allow me to cover the entire top of the tunnel from back of seat to back of tunnel. Well not the entire top of the tunnel but a damn big portion. With that said I think I'm going to put myself on a no spending money on the sled probation period as I have spent way too much on it getting it ready for the track extension. I'm not even going to try to add up everything that I have purchased, I will however get pictures of all the parts so that they can be added into my track extension project thread, once I start one that is...LOL
Well fellow bloggers, I'm out of here for the day. More updates tomorrow.

Getting excited parts arriving soon!

picked up a pair of 509 camo skull goggles for 50.00 These will be my back up pair to the quick strap goggles that I have on my helmet currently, and who know's if I like the 509 goggles enough maybe I'll break down and buy another pair.
I should see the rail and tunnel extensions show up today the rest of the parts should be arriving during the first part of next week. At least I hope they will be arriving during the first part of next week.
Well fellow blogger's it's 02:20 and I have to say the next 2 hours and 20 minutes are going to creep by. I really don't think this night is ever going to end. Of course I must also mention that it is currently 37'F outside right now. I know it's probably colder somewhere else, but who cares it's getting colder that's all that matters.

Track Extension
Posted November 1st 2007

Just placed an order with Dennis Kirk for the hyfax and a few bottles of Klotz chain case oil. I also went ahead and ordered new carbides and a back-up belt so that I could get shipping free with the order. That should conclude all of the parts that I will need to complete my extension project.
