    Yamaha RX1.

Thinking of giving one a try. I see a bunch of them for sale. Prices range from $2500-$3000. Miles range from 3000-10000mi.

I already know they are tanks, and the 2006 is the apex efi model. Found a couple of them but nothing real local.

What should I look for? Should I be worried about higher mile models?

    2003 Rx1 with a 159 mountain track and 3100mi for $2200.

    Or a 2006 apex attack 136 with 8000mi for $2600.

Which one would be the better bang for the dollar?

What are your intentions with said sled? That 159 is not going to be enjoyable on the trails and the 136 has some decent miles, although not high for a four stroke.

It will be mostly a sled for when I want all flat out "Holy shit" factor. I have a XC 500 SP that I can trail ride.

I've trail rode long skid mountain sleds before and they don't bother me. I'm leaning more towards the RX1 just because of the lower miles, I can get it for nearly $400 less than the apex. I don't mind carbs.

Well I decided to go with the RX1. This thing is a monster. 3100mi. 159 2in lug track with a big wheel kit and rail extensions. The owner fabricated his own suspension skid mounts in the rear so he could get more clearance for the tall lug track. Aftermarket exhaust (not sure of brand, but it's loud). Dude I bought it from only rode it out west. He put the correct low altitude jets, and clutch weights for me. Changed the oil and filter. And even threw in a fxr racing yamaha jacket and bibs.

Was able to ride it about 60 miles today. Never been on anything with so much torque. The sleds sound and rides amazing! Got some weird looks at the gas station. Not many 4 stroke snowmobiles in my area.

Only bad thing that happened is the throttle cable extension snapped on me. Lucky for me it happened in my driveway after me and the folks got home. Was wondering why the throttle was sticking on me during that ride. I'm just glad it didn't stick the throttle or break while we were far from home.

Here are some pics of the new beast.

Congrats. Looks like a nice sled. I bet it goes pretty good with that four banger in it. Be careful.

Removed the handlebar riser, trimmed the snow, and introduced it to the other sleds. I think they're scared now.
