1996 Polaris Indy 500 EFI Quits

Hey guys. I have a 96 Polaris Indy 500 EFI that runs great for about 20 minutes and then quits. This just started. If you guys are familiar with the 500 EFI’s, anytime you pull the motor over even so much as a revolution, the fuel pump gets a signal to pressurize the system. Even if the key and the kill switch are off. Even disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will cause the fuel pump to run 3-4 seconds and pressurize the system. When my sled dies, nothing I do can get the fuel pump the signal to pressurize. After sitting for about 20 minutes or so, all of a sudden the fuel pump will be working normally and the sled will fire right up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome. I am not familiar with the older EFI systems. Hopefully some of the guru's will sign in and see your post. Uglyoldpookid was always good with the EFI sleds.

There is a ton of info on the efi sleds if you do a search, just have to put some time into it.

Me too same issue runs long enough to get you back in the bush quits nothing will start it so you tow it back and then it starts 2nd pull Runs great tries to convince you to do it again
I'm about to go on a diagnostic voyage of discovery, got the computer cable, going today to get a fuel pressure guage, taking out the airbox, pulling fuel tank checking pickup, got a new battery, installing new filter, unplugging and cleaning dielectric grease plugs.
then hooking up my laptop and seeing whats up.
Then again mine sat in a garage with the cover on it for 24 years
Hopefully it doesn't need a sensor because not sure there available also
can anyone recommend a adjustable ebay fuel regulator that they have successfully used
where can I find a drop resister ?

    advice on these matters welcomed

    lets keep in touch
