I posted yesterday about studs pulling through a friends track.

He is thinking of replacing it he doesnt have problems in the future... and is thinking about a Kimpex track (mostly looking at the Vantage kevlar track with pre-molded stud holes).... A few people said stay away from them and thank you for that info....

....but we would like to know why? Whats wrong with Kimpex tracks? who has one and likes it? Who has one and hates it?

What are the pro and cons?

thanks for all your help and input

Like I said yesterday, I just would not buy a Kimpex track for a High Performance sled.
Look for a new take-off or a new Camoplast from someone like Tracks-Usa .

I gotta say I'm not fond of Kimpex. We had to replace a track on a Z440 after the Kimpex one on the sled lost 2 lugs. When we got a new track we bought Camoplast. I kinda notice that Camoplast is a little more of a rugged track. The Kimpex track had strings hanging out of everywhere for some reason, even the predrilled stud holes. Also a couple of dealers around here have said stay clear of Kimpex.

well this sucks.. everything i hear is kimpex sucks.

Are there any other companys out there that make good tracks? Anything with pre-molded holes? I have read that camoplast makes most of the OEM tracks

Don't put studs on the edge of the track, just in the middle. Watch for any damage. Make sure you are not riding with low snow. Studs will rip with any track. I'd put my trust in camoplast over any brand.

Make sure you runn lots of studs the less studs in your track the more you will rip out the more studs you have well you wont loose any becuse all the pull is on lots of studs. with a low number of studs it stresses the track more and tears the track. so go with as many studs as possible. got it

Also be sure you arent running too long of a stud...this will cause them to tear out also.
