Hey guys, I may be a guilty one here but logging in to surf for some parts after a lovely stump busted up my trailing arm and radius rods on our last trip. I'm scrolling through the parts and forums looks reading when i realize the post dates on these threads are 2013-2012 and down and I realize I'm still on the 2nd or 3rd page. Where did everyone go, used to be at least a page sometimes 2 of threads that were active with in the last day or two if not within the last week. I don't know y'alls reasons for being less active. I know the last couple years I've drawn away from the sledding some and other stuff has taken up my time. Diesel is my passion, love working on mine, on top of that I graduated college a couple years back so now working a night shift at a truck shop on top of farming still just doesn't leave time, except in the winter. With me being the age I am now though and having my own house I'm more apt to do what I want and not always go west with the family if I chose not and dad likes that since I can handle the farm while he's gone. This results in far less miles then usual but also less broken parts.
Back to the site I know it seems as its become less of a friendly/home feeling, at least in my head, used to be almost a facebook for snowmobilers, (minus 80% of the drama). With the status updates and all that, maybe thats why I haven't been as active, either way, lets hear what y'all have to say.

I still come around from time to time. Now that I'm older and can fix anything on my sled without having to ask questions, and the fact that cell phone technology and facebook made it easy to contact the ones I care to talk to. I only stop in to see if anyone made any good build/project threads.
I pretty much lost all interest in snowmobiling and most of the people I used to ride with don't even have sleds anymore. Already sold my Pro-R 800 and on the fence about selling the FST...
Every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. That means every day you see me, that's the worst day of my life.

Sold all my sleds years ago... With the lack of snow, and wondering if the trails are going to open at all, its hard to justify the expense.
I rarely stop in here. Does Eric still own the site?
I have since taken up riding adventure motorcycles. I have a KLR650 and a BMW F800gs; these bikes have been all over the Midwest.
The lack of snow the last couple of years has not helped, when no one is riding they do not have as much of a reason to visit or post on these sites.
It seems like 5years ago there was a big group of enthusiast on this site that posted regularly with builds threads, group rides, etc. Many of those people have moved on to other things in life which is understandable, but the part that gets me as that a newer generation never moved in and replaced that group. Its almost like it is a dying breed?

I don't think it's a dying breed, I see more sleds out today then I ever have. I'd believe that the passion for the sport is going away. I think todays sleds are more or less just disposable toys to the generation that followed. Ride 'em, break 'em and sell 'em. Not many kids these days have an interest in turning a wrench or learning the mechanics of machinery.
still plenty of us "young bucks" that like turning wrenches... I've since moved more to DooTalk for being active. I check in here at least once a day but it's a lot of the same ol same ol questions that the search bar can solve in a matter of minutes... And quite a few of the younger guys I met on here I am friends with on facebook too. Just seems like the breath was knocked out of this site after last season and never came back.

Snow hasn't been great the last few years and I work a ton so I don't get to go ride but for a week at Christmas time (total for this year was 4 miles). And as others have said there just haven't really been any good topics lately. Not sure if its because everyone is busy, gone from the site or what.
