There have been some nice rains here in SW Minnesota along with warm growing weather. The corn is getting tall fast with the 80 degree weather the past week. Del Monte started harvesting peas this week around the Sleepy Eye area.

Oh yeah, I knew that. We used to pasture the now field north of your shop. Our chute was actually on your land over there.

We are perfect right now. Haven't had any significant rain in about a couple weeks. All the grain is headed out and it looking really good. Corn is knee to thigh high and is also doing pretty good. The 22" rows are closed up and the 30" rows are getting real close. Beans always look ugly this time of year but most of them look ok. Hay has come back awesome after first cutting. It hasn't even been 2 weeks and it's over 6" tall already. Should be a good week or so with temps in the low 80's and night lows in the 60's. Everything should really take off.

Seen some farmer haying and baling I think there are more but they're waiting off the rain to stop and more likely they will get er done and ready for second cut later on.

The dairy farmers are just about done with 2nd cutting. We are going to cut next week I think. Corn is head high. Wheat is turning pretty good. Most beans are good but there is an area that is having some issues. Nematodes, cysts, and something else that the "smart guys" couldn't really tell us without testing them. They think it's a bacteria or virus of some kind. Could be interesting in the years to come if some guys can't plant beans. Sunflowers and barley might be making a comeback.

We've been dodging rain storms. One night one went north of us 15 miles (1.5" in less than half hour), and one night one went 20 miles east of us (1.25" in 15 min & 60+ mph winds). We need rain, but don't really need it that fast. I'm sure one of these times we'll get hit.

On a side note, we took some of the work load off our small 125 hp and put more load on the bigger 175 hp. Bought a Degelman blade for pushing silage.

Guys around me (S WI) have started to harvest winter wheat. The wind storms we had last month really did a number on the yeild.

Western Manitoba got hammered by a massive storm yesterday, there was a tornado on the ground for well over an hour. Some pictures of damage are coming across mediums like Facebook and Twitter currently, I'm sure glad that weather didn't come here.

Things around here are wet. We've been getting thunderstorms every 2-3 days it seems and 1.5 to 2" of rain with every one. When we hit the field in a week or so with the swather in canola and the sprayer in wheat I really hope it has dried up enough to not make a massive mess...

Saw the first guys going in winter wheat in the area yesterday. Spring wheat isn't that far behind, was just that kind of year. Our beans seem to be suffering a bit from all the rain, everything else looks pretty good though.
