    Project Rotaris

I'm starting a summer project, and thought it's worthy of sharing with all you folks. I'm taking 3 sleds and making one nice one out of them. I'll keep it updated as I go though the process. Should be pretty quick when all done.

Chassis: 1988 Polaris Indy 400 because it's pretty light compared to the other two
    Engine: 1994 Skidoo 583 Rotax r.a.v.e motor
Suspension: Xtra12 rear skid, possibly xtra10 front suspension or leave it the way it is

I have the 583 engine taken apart right now, it needs a new bearing in the bottom end.

Here is a teaser pic (I need to clean my garage, I know)

    sounds like a busy summer.

I would pick the chassis that is in the best shape. the two indy chassis will be very similar in weight.
your mommas so dumb she threw a rock at the ground and missed.

The 400 chassis is in the best shape. The XLT chassis has a decent size crack and dent in the footwell which twisted it and I could never get the clutches to be square to each other. The 583 should move it along well. I might bore out the 583 using 77 or 78 mm pistons. Odd part is the 400 engine plate almost lines up with the 4 bolts on the bottom of the 583

If its in good shape like u say then 850 isn't bad, with that many miles its prob a weak master cylinder not air. Just make sure when the fox shocks were last serviced cuz if its been a few yrs then they will need a oil and charge most likely. It's not a ditch banger but a decent older triple. A guy at work had 11,000 miles on his and engine was never apart. If we had pix of it we could tell u easier if it looks like a good buy.
