    99 xc 700 clutch setup

    It’s been a long while since I’ve had a liberty 700. I have a bunch of old parts lying around but can’t remember the hot setup for these sleds. I vaguely recall an r12 helix, almond red or almond gold primary with 64g weights. Does this sound right? What secondary spring?

    Thats about right for the primary, although those primary springs will give you a pretty high clutch engagement, over 4krpm. I'm running an almond/blue and it comes in about 3800 with 64g weights.

    Secondary spring I ran EPI purple, then switched to Polaris silver/blue for better backshift. The R12 or any other 50-36 progressive helix works great.

    SLP pipe and can, boost bottle, VForce, 64g weights with almond-blue, aaen roler secondary 50-36 helix, 1.25 Ripsaw w/144 studs, pro-x rear susp, 2 in riser, handlebar hooks, third testicle, and good brakes.

    I ran a EPI red in my 1998 XC 7 w/220 cylinders. Secondary I run the silver/blue and a R11
    I've never had a ten But I've had 5 two's

    always like silver blue spring and r 12 helix. great setup that worked in many sleds. it was more aggressive over the stock helix a little on them twins. I ran some straight helix's and really liked them. a straight 38 pulled 3 mph faster then the r 12 on a tough track. on the trail a straight 38 or 40 if you can pull it would yank hard to the top! I remember running straight 34's with a red spring,on the smaller 500's it was a bad setup that would bog in the soft snow but on a bigger hp sled it was responsive but for groomed trail and lake riding it was good, ran heavier weights. had no limit to top end the red spring allowed max overdrive.

    10-62 weights with 824 cylinders. Almond or epi red primary. R12 with a polaris silver/blue spring. I have set a vouple up like that, 10-64 weights if you have the 220 cylinders. Seems to be a good setup.
