Which oil to use or does it "reallY" matter?

Hi folks, I have a 1994 Polaris XLT SKS. Some people say ONLY use synthetic, others swear ONLY to use regular 2 stroke oil. Which do most prefer? Will it hurt to use the reg "plain old stuff'?

IMO, use whatever quality oil you can get locally that's cost effective. Doesn't need to be synthetic, but it's fine if that's what you can find.

Historically I've used regular Dino oil in older sleds without powervalves, and synthetic in the newer stuff with power valves. Synthetic oils help keep the valves clean longer.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion.
Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
