Any Chance I could see a pic of that Chapparal, I might be interested. I've got a 340 Rotax l/c lookin for a home, and I've always liked the Firebirds.

If your deal works out and you put a rotax in a firebird, I would love to see some pics when you're done.

A lot of people are after that firebird. Where are you located? With l/c 440 in that sled it would go like hell!!! Those are like the lightest sleds ever built. I was had a 440 Fuji free-air in it but I didn't have any carbs for the motor so I took it out...

I'm in Mukwonago, and the Rotax is a 340 l/c out of an "80" Blizzard 7500 Plus. ChappaDoo sound's like a fun project to Me!
The first sled I ever rode was a Chapparal Firebird 292 that was WayBack in about "73", it was a friend of mine's Mom's sled.
His Dad had a Firebird 292 SS(read that Short windshield and Tapered seat) , Back in the day those were some Really Fast Machines. Anyway's Mom's Bird was the faster of the 2, but My buddy liked the look's of the SS better, Guess I got lucky on that one, cause I was alway's in front and pulling away!

I'd really appreciate if you could get a pic of the "Bird"

I'll try to get a pic. My dad built one of these sleds, he stiped it all down and put a 340 rotax single cylinder in it(made it into a race sled). He also called it a "Chapadoo"!!!
