Nope, the xcsp did though. And yes the 600ves topend can bolt right in, you'll also need the cdi, main jets, clutching and maybe pipe if the 500xc doesn't have ves.

how do i know if it is an sp? the hood is black and its for sale but the ppl dont know if its ves or not. they dont know anything about snowmobiles.

why would it need a diff cdi? off a 600?

if i didn't know any better, i'd think because the timing curve is different from the 500.
