I think my 2000 has over 6,500 on it, and it still runs perfectly. I was going to put new rings on, or do the whole top end last year, but I figured why mess with a good thing? I didn't even check the compression last year because it ran strong!

If your compression is over 100psi per cylinder and within 10psi of each other wouldn't touch it,its not unheard of to get 10k miles out of those motors.

Brother has 9800 on his 01' 600. Still has 120 psi compression.

Brother bought an 01 xc 600 last year with 6500 miles and it had 7600 miles at the end of the season and showed NO signs of being tired.
