Hey guys, I have an 02 800 edge x and an 05 xc sp 600. Both of them make the same noise. It happens after I have slowed down and then hit the gas again. It makes a "thunk" sound. I can't quite place the sound, but it sounds as though it is coming from the secondary or the chain case. It is like the clutches are trying to catch up or somthing. I am wondering if this is normal, does anyone else have this? Or should I be worried and try to fix this?

If you have the PERC on the sled then it is a normal sound...or so I have been told by a few Polaris Techs. I you don't have PERC you may want to check secondary springs and chain tension.

Those sleds both have Team 2ndary clutches. If you find that your chain tension is o.k. it is just the 2ndary taking up the play between back shifting and up shifting. It is normal with the Teams even if it doesn't have PERC but usually more noticeablbe with PERC because of the reverse locking notch in the helix.
