I posted this in another forum but I got no replies so I will try where all the Polaris experts hang out. My 02 800X runs great and even idles fine once it comes down, but when I let go of the throttle it will idle at about 3500 for about 5-10 seconds and then drop to 2500 for another 5-10 seconds and then it drops to 1500 and stays there just fine. The throttle, throttle cable and carbs have been checked and move freely. The slides return to the idle position but the motor idles high as I described above. The engine has V-Force reeds and an aftermarket can. By the way the plugs look perfect and it has great throttle respnose. Any body have any ideas?

Running stock pilot jet with the V-Force reeds? They recommend to bump up to the next pilot jet when running V-Force reeds

Have you tried dropping the needles in the carbs?
That seemed to help for me on both by Liberty sleds
No I have not,but I am afraid to try it since the plugs look perfect and it runs so good. I have always been told that the needles don't affect the idle in fact they really do not come into play until about 3/4 throttle.
