Does anyone know any thing about the SDI system. Is it somthing they made themselves. I heard it was a Bosch system that had been adapted to work on a smowmobile motor. Anyone have any comments about how this will work?
Also will anyone buy this. Do you think this will work as well as they are advertising it? I find it hard to believe they can get 50% better fuel milage by injecting into the crankcase verses into a throttle body. Why will oil comsumption be 25% less. All the manufacture's already inject oil into the case. Possibaly the oil won't get washed off by the fuel if it isn't being injected until after the oil is injected. It will be intersting to see how this all developes.

Actualy .. it's emissions that will drop by 50% .. they are predicting a 25% increase in fuel economy.
well, with a computer monitoring and injecting the fuel mixture at the right time, less excess is sent out of the exhaust port as unburned fuel. that is why the emissions and fuel economy is so dramatically increased.

There's no stopping Arctic Cat........ REALLY!!

I could see it being an efficient power system too. If the computer could accurately monitor the atmosphere and sled it could adjust and make a semi lean but still somewhat safe condition and maybe produce a bit more power. In theory all EFI systems should do that and sometimes but not always do.
crap a 4 stroke! that looks cool whew. thats guna b one mean sled.
wow you aren't in the loop confused :) that thign is crap compared to the Yamaha Four STroke coming out 2003. THe RX1 haven't heard of it? 1000cc four cylinder based on the R1 street bike. www.yamaha-motor.com check it out.
What I'm interested in is the 600 and 800 H.O. engines. 10% more power on the 6, 7 or 8%, can't remember, on the 8. Also I think that SDI think looks pretty cool. If they can drop emisions by 50% that's sweet. Maybe we won't have to switch to 4 strokes then cuz I heard that by 2010 the emisions only HAD to drop 50%. If they could do it this fast that is sweet, and on a 2 stroke, even better.

I may be young, but I ain't dumb!!!

Better snow check one REAL soon if you plan to get one. If the Viper was any indication it may not be easy to get one next season.
