Hi, we used to have a 1976 Skidoo Olympic Plus 440 snowmobile my dad bought new in 1976. It was stolen from us in 1993. We believe we have finally located the snowmobile but want to make sure it was once ours. I know the VIN tag is located on the right side back outside tunnel, but just in case the tag has been removed, is anyone aware where the VIN number (if at all) would be stamped in the body? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have attached a photo of what the sled looks like.

Im not your first go to guy regarding snowmobiles, especially older guys but im fairly certain the data tag is the only location the vin is stamped, just all the sleds ive parted out over the years ive never happened across a stamping in the bulkhead or tunnel or anything

You are correct. The data VIN stamp is in the tunnel just below the split where the fuel tank and seat meet on the right side. Unfortunately this was NOT our snowmobile. Dead issue now. Thank you.
