I recently aquired a 1981 Liquid cool 340 Indy with no carbs. I know the came with 38mm's Anyone know the stock M.J's, pilots, slides or any tuning information ? I have a set of 38's off a Vmax540 but, they have the power jet's did the Polaris L.C. 340's use them ? Thanks !

No power jets stock on the Indy. I'll pull my extra carbs apart tomorrow and let you know the stock mains and pilots as I don't know them off the top of my head. For some reason 200 or 300 sounds right but don't even attempt to quote me.

doesnt all this stuff depend on elevation too though? i thought you had to adjust because the higher you are, the less dense the air is. my sled (SD) woudnt run that great in the rockies because its not tuned for it, right? i have a txl 340, with s VM38SS mikuni's on it, too.

Usually your fine till about 3000 ft. Then you need to change weights, jets and springs.

yes the mains are 260's and the air screw 1 turn. have an 80 txl myself, and if properly tuned right they will run, got mine set up for 1,000 foot speed runs and consistantly running in the mid to upper 70's in 1,000 foot. best run of 79.998 mph.
