I have a 1992 Indy Trail with a 1983 440 dropped into it. It has a closed face Polaris clutch on it that needs replacing. Will an open face P85 clutch from an Indy 500 work, or do I need to find another closed face clutch?

Also, I tried to pull the clutch with my P85 puller - it threaded in right, but it threaded in all the way before it started popping the clutch off. Do I need a separate puller for it? I might try filling the hole with grease, putting pipe thread on the puller and seeing if that doesn't pop it off.

Also, when I tried to remove the closed face cover while it was still on the shaft, it didn't come off. Any ideas?

I looked all over the forum, couldn't find an answer, so I hope you can help me out.

Thanks!
