I was trying to check all my connections and found out that one of the brown wires coming out of rectifier was connected to engine ground. I checked continuity for this and without the battery (I disconnected the battery), it has continuity with the engine block. What puzzles me is why does it have to be grounded again, if it is already grounded? I studied the schematic and found that there is a brown wire that is connected directly to the battery. Should this brown wire be connected directly to the battery? The reason I am checking this is because I don't have lights. Help please...

The rectifier has nothing to do with the lights, neither does the battery...

The Rectifier on the RXL is for running the EFI, and the battery is used for the EFI, and the electric start if so equipped.

The lights run off the lighting coil only, same as the hand warmers.
