Well just picked one up for $1500 with 2900 miles Mint Cond. Wondering what mods give best power on these sleds. Also looking for general input on this sled.

triple pipes are a big time help. Not 100% about a 93 but later ones thats definite power adder. Nice name by the way, I am Sir Dog as well :)

yathe 93 and 94 were 580's, great engines, i think the 93 had a better one than the 94 on the pto bearing.

Technically 580 cc's, but its called a 600. The newer XLT's have 598 cc's I believe, but are still called 600's.

The newer XLTs are 597cc and the older ones are 579cc. I have a 96 which is 597cc and my neighbor has a 93 which is the 579cc.

I thought that the XLT had the 579 and the XLT (Special) had the 597 with bigger carbs, very similar to the xcr 600. Am i wrong?

95-96 Standard Xlt 597cc/34mm carbs.
97 Standard Xlt 597cc/38mm carbs.

94-95 Xlt special 597cc/34mm carbs.
