I have been having some trouble with my XCR 600 idling right. Come to find out, I had no compression on one cylinder. FWIW I have 6250 miles on it. It looks like I need a new piston and rings, a gasket kit, and one new jug. Is this a common problem on these sleds? Take a look at what happened:
Common problerm, I'd say no. Had a 97 since new, soldit last year, 8000 miles, buddy with a 98 rolled 8000 couple weekends back.
Carbs clean and jetted right? These are know to have a lean spot in the mid range. Would end up with a siezure first then,
Mail the files over...If I was putting money ito the sled..I might change what I would by.
I'd be hunting for a ves top end... loose that bog around 5500.. I have a lot of info on it. We will be freshening my buddy's machine this summer with a big bore.
