Friend has a 1997(?) XLT 2 up that only overheats after 10-15 miles down the trail (it will idle all day and not overheat) ! He replaced the waterpump after it failed and all seals/gaskets. It circulates and all exchangers are warm. Thanks for any help ! Chuck S.

is he driving to slow? is there good snow on the trail? if snow isnt getting to the running boards and up in the tunnel it wont cool. also lift the nose of the sled 2 ft with it off and let it sit there for a couple minutes. then set it back down. recheck the water level.

if hes running on poor trails conditions (not enough snow) he could put some snow on top of the running board where his feet are to cool the cooling down a bit...he could repeat that a evry 7-8 stop signs and see if his cooling run colder
