Just wondering does this machine have a drain plug for the chaincase or do i have to take the cover off to change oil?

there is a drain plug in the bottom

Has a drain plug, if never changed be careful and make sure the allen wrench is in there good. They can be buggers to get out.

or you can use an easy tool. Lots of differant brands, just a star looking bit that grips into it. Go to Walmart or any mechanical oriented shop.

I'm not sure on your sled, but on my 99 RMK the plug is really a T30 Torx, not an allen head plug. They look like an allen but will round out if an allen is used. Dealer said that they sell alot of plugs to people that tried to remove them with allen wrenches. Yours may be different.

If you cant get the plug out its not a huge deal just pull the cover off, only problem is its going to make a mess of the belly pan,THE plus side to this is you can inspect your chain and gears!
