kind of hard to understand your post.
if your sled wouldn't pull over 450 ft something was wrong with your cluthes or rpms were off.

set up i gave will pull harder than stock up to about 90 with much better backshift. if you're looking for topend mph try 58-52 helix with 49.5g wts. this is an easy setup with all cat parts.
if you want to rip out of the hole and for ditchbanging you can go with a d&d type set up heavier polaris 10 wts (52-54g) d&d teal primary 185-295, 60-48 helix and D&D purple sec spring. d&d is an animal down low but sacrifices topend.
