The 2000 XCSP where all gen 2. Some of the '00 XCSP 440 race sled were edge.

How do you like your sled. I was looking at one here the other day.
Yup it's a Gen II

If you need any parts pics or anything click on the link below and look under some of the topics until you find your part

^Look like this? Ive ran mine now for 4 seasons without incident with a little over 3200 miles on the clock. Plenty fast and dont ride bad after you figure out how to adjust the suspension. Stock clutching and jetting works well but the suspension is very stiff unless you dick with it some. I put a ripsaw on it last year with favorable results.

You can run up next to a stock Viper without embarassing yourself if it runs well.
zrxpilot, you got that little xc 120 to keep up with a viper ? j/k btu your xc 700 looks clean looks liek you take care of your stuff thats good.nice sled. and yeah its a gen 2

Nice sleds[:D] My buddy has a '99 600 XCSP and I'll say thats a really sweet sled, with a 700 yours must really rip
I remember when the first XC's came out in 98 and being dissapointed for not having the jing to buy one because I was still making payments on my Storm. In late 99 I went to work overseas for a couple years but always kept up with the new iron that came out in the fall. That red 700 was the sled I thought about the whole time and didnt for a minute consider anything else. The next fall after my return from Korea I bought my 700. 1100 miles on it for $4100.00 from the original owner. He paid like $7500.00 for it. Back then that was a pretty good deal.

It was the newest sled I had ever owned (and still is today). With the exception of my latest XCR, I have yet to get excited about any sled since. After 4 seasons of riding, im due for something newer but I still think its a great sled.

You should be able to beat on the 97 XC 600 ( believe that it has the same motor as an XLT, right), even with work done to it. The v max 4 is really fast once it gets moving, they don't have that great of a hole shot, so advantage you. If you can get a decent lead in a 1000ft race may be able to stay a head, but if it is longer then you will get beat.
Your going to need a lot of mods to be able to beat the v max 4.
