2001 XC 800

I am new here and was wondering if anyone else was disappointed with their 01 XC 800 like I was. I know the engine was a "little" underpowered compared to other 800s, but I had many other problems with mine. I broke the center shock, had two bad heat sensors, and never got it to handle well. I was wondering what other people thought of the XC8. I think Polaris made many good changes this year (shocks and engine), but I went with the MXZX 800 this year. I hope I have good luck with that, because I am not a big fan of GREEN!!

Everyone I have heard of who has had that sled has loved it....hmmmm.... makes me glad I bought the Cat. That MXZX is a sweet sled! Pics?

I get to pick it up in the morning, it finally came in. I can't wait to try the RER, never seen one work yet. I am getting sick of picking up sleds to turn them around. I will try to get some pics of it on here soon. What cat did you buy, the ZR 800 CC in black almost got my money. I rode my buddies MXZX last year and liked it so I went with the Doo.
I got the ZR 800 EFI.... just picked mine up a week or so ago. I have pics in the my sled section. I almost got the CC edition but I read in snow tech that the CC is Very stiff riding and 99.9% of the riders preferred the feel of the regular suspension. You gotta love how they look though! You are going to love that Ski-Doo however!

I also went with the Ski-Doo because I am going to try to snocross this year. So I also have a 01 MXZX 440, and the X is on the same platform this year. With my luck, I will brake a bone before I have a chance to ride either of them to much!!! Oh well, you only live once!!
I only know on person who had a 2001 and they hated it cause it was HORRID to start when it was cold. Hmm selling a sled that can't be started by one man in the cold nah who uses a snowmobile in the cold? We gave up on Polaris in part cause of that. I mean who really sells a sled you can't start in the cold?
I forgot all about that part of the sled!! I let my dad try to start it on a cold morning, because he stated "it can't be that hard to pull over." He pulled and the handle didn't move, but he did. He hit his head on the windshield. It was rather funny. Once you turned it over a few times slow, it was not to bad to start. But those first slow pulls were no fun.
I couldn't believe how much harder my Cat was to pull over when I got it than my polaris triple...and it's not even cold out yet!! Definately hard to get used to!
