I have a 2002 xc 600 engine in my 05 iqr it won't go over 7000 rmps I check my exhaust valves they are fine went though my carbs took my clutching apart checked them they where fine checked my reeds they where fine ran a compression test on it I have 115 in both holes

How does it run up to 7,000 RPM?
Did you check the rubber bellows and springs in the exhaust valve assemblies?
Did you preload the spring in the secondary upon reassembly? Put the spring in the tightest hole in the helix and see if you gain RPM.
How do your plugs look? Check piston wash. Are you too rich?
115 compression should be just fine for that motor.

That's my main problem I can't find what I should run for jets I have twin mod pipes off a race sled it use to be a 110 octane sled it is a 660 crank shafts shop and I have 580 jets right now the right plug is brown left is washe'd I was wondering if my needles are set wrong and I did check bellows
