what do you want to bet the Moutnain Max will have the Viper engine and there may be a Viper 600? just guesses total guesses but just saying.
i heard somewhere the mountain sleds will pick up the viper look too. is this probable or just speculation?

'99 XC SP 500
Maybe. Prolly just a rumor though. It may not be nice. They DEFINETALLY can't have more than 1 or 2 sleds look that way that unique design would be ruined by puting it on every sled they make.
How about a Viper 800 twin? o i get goosebumps just thinking about it. Cant wait for the 16th.

Yeah a Viper twin would rock.

When I went with my brother to the dealer to pick up his Viper, the dealer told us that he had heard that the SRX was going to be redone (styling, performance mods. etc). We'll see.
I am really waiting for yamaha to punch out a 800cc triple or twin for that matter. It will be incredible if they can get the power out of an 800 like they did with the 700.....mmmm....

Have heard rumors about a 160 hp 4-stroke with an r-1 based motor in a new chasis with a-arm front susp. and new rear susp. similar to the Redline ,a smaller 4-stroke (r-6?),and a new mountain sled.
If it's a 160+hp 4-stroke r-1 motor sign me up,put on a turbo or some nos with some cams and a pipe and you would be looking at 225-250 hp. Oh yea keep the weight down too.later rpm
MY GOD...MAN! That thing would rip!!!

If they put out a 4 stroke 160+ HP sled...be ready to pay through the nose for it. Maybe through some other orifices also. <smile>

Is this it or is it just heavily modified. But it does say Mountain Max 800??

That looks pretty wicked.

Tfin70 it came from your post on Skidoos with A-arms.

sledmaine.com but in the Yamaha forum. it was the 4-stroke yamaha thread that caught my eye until I saw those pics further down. Nice mean looking Mtn sled.

If I had any Mtn sled to choose from from the 4 majors I would just cry quivering in the corner of the showroom like a boneless chicken. Today's Mtn sleds from all vendors just make me drool! I'm a mountain man at heart. think I'll change my member ID to MTN-man.

Yamaha absolutely has to redo the Mountain Max. I mean in the scope of it they suck ass. They are a 112HP triple that gets spanked by all the others by like 2 seconds in a race. I am betting on the Viper engine in the Mountain Max. And that sled looks special. Not sure. ALl I can say is if Yamaha makes all their sleds look like the Viper it will be a mistake. I think anyway. I also think that sled is modified. No Yamaha has suspension like that and the hood if you look close is just like the present Mountain Max one but with a different head light. I could be wrong and probably am. I have also been saying for a year now that YAMAHA HAS TO PUT OUT A 4Stroke. SkiDoo/Rotax had 4Stroke experience with the BMW motorcycles but those are cruisers for the most part meet an R1 Snowmobile :O I would freaking drop my jaw and drool for days. But I still prefer 2 Strokes however sadly 4s are the future.

You're absolutely right Sled_Dog, in that Yamaha should definately not make all their sleds look like the Viper. Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of that sled. But to make their entire line up (with in reason) look like the Viper is like radio stations overplaying a kick a$$ song. To much of a good thing is.......to much.

Ooooo I like the idea of that double looped mountain bar on the handle too! I also think this is just a heavily modified 2001 or 2002. I wouldn't believe a '03 to just be sitting out in someone's front/back yard.

Ride to live...Live to ride.[/quote] exactly! also I think it is modified because that is an aftermarket lightweight seat. In fact as best I can tell all the headlight thing is is a single piece skillfully placed down the middle of the normal light. I could still be wrong but I don't think it is a new sled but rather a modified old one.
