Hi,

Just wondering if anybody else has had problems with the spider blowing up in there 2004 firecats? Or any other year arctic cat?

Thanks,

I'm not sure if the 04's still had the 9 tower clutch or not.
But A.C. 9 tower clutches are known for blowing spider's, and stationary sheave's.
That's why Cat dropped them for the newer 6 tower.

Your best bet is to upgrade to a newer 6 tower, or put a good Comet on it.

I just replaced my 9 tower clutch, spider was eaten up by the weights. Kind of glad I made the switch.

my dads '98 ZR 600 had the spider grenade last year at 90mph, and it blew a 4 inch hole in the belly pan. it was a 12 tower clutch that had 4000 miles on it, and 600s are hard on clutches. so it was bound to explode lol.

It's not just AC. I had to replace the spider on my ZR 500 this year. My son's Polaris had to have a spider replaced this year, but I used the parts that came off his other P-85 that broke a tower in half last year.
