Another day another ride... Please don't post a reply till I am done writing it here within the hour or so)

Local map to use to reference report if you want http://www.dcdrifters.net/files/DCDrifters2009map.jpg

Headed out yesterday 3-5-10 with some guys from our local snowmobile forum. EMTP579(dan)-Medic944-Blablond-Lawlerclan-Malorie-ff1emtd-and myself.
Dan and ff1emtd(mike) meet up at my house here in Berkshire. In this report I will only be posting pictures that are not the same pictures I have posted in my past reports. Please also be aware that I took some of these pictures from my snowmobile while driving it. C2 leaving berkshire was decent. Snow wasn't a real issue. Fun tight twisty stuff.

We headed towards slaterville on C2 and it was FAST by mckormic and such.. Miles of perfect flat wide snow highway. No pictures, was too busy driving and that area was in my last report. We met up with the rest of the group and we then headed towards Candor on C2. I love this stretch. Pictures of Shindagen Hollow tight twisty trails are in my last report. About 6 miles of the good stuff IMO. They groom them with this thing we seen. It did not do a great job on the straights but the woods were smoother than they were last week... pretty cool. Rock hard snow too was not helping the cause.

We stop at the intersection
2010361823104_521.jpg
We seen 2 recent pictures online of a field in Candor with low snow.. so the group elected to head north and just avoid candor (Little did we know we would hit much worse stuff than the candor pictures later haha). We headed north on S25 and S25 sucks. It is 5 miles of railroad tracks with brush and bumps but it is a trail from A-B I guess.here

We went left on S27 towards Danby state forest. This was tight twisty trails with small bumps. I snapped up some pictures

We came to this! I think the homeowoner did it because roads are not plowed with straight plows. We removed a few lumps and went around it. Later on I come back over it right up the middle baby.

More danby pictures

We made it almost to spencer. Medic944 has a bum hip and is scheduled to get it fixed soon, the bumps were not being kind to him. We turned around and headed towards slaterville on S25(they parked in Dryden at the VFW). I have a video of this and will post it later in this spot. FAST seasonal snow highways.
We come across some old stone house building in the middle of nowhere. We need to research this and figure out what it is (besides a party spot haha)

We decide to eat at Slaterville Springs little gas station. It has this thing inside to order food. Sweet! Food and gas out here haha.

Some old lady asks us to check her oil so I check her oil.. she then takes off without paying for fuel... we eat and leave

Head towards dryden and hit some snow highway. Nice work Drifters

And here comes the ugly. We hit this after the VFW. Malorie got BURIED.. Brian and I got pretty crappy getting her out. Took 20 mins or so. EMTP579(dan) also got buried. This will be Dans 3rd stuck of the day haha

Low snow sucks.. the trails south had much more snow (all higher elevations)

Ride report continues under Ultrawillies post below. He must have not thread the first sentence in the first post LOL.

We bump it up in elevation and Blablond and I take a corner wide in a farm field in all the powder. I think malorie took other pictures of this :(. I carved too much and tipped her over. I tipped it back and got buried in many feet of snow. The guys helped me getting it out. Need a trench?

We went down the "pipeline" and hit the usual trail that sucks.. especially when low snow is present.. hit a patch like this

Turkeys
201036184556448_521.jpg
Then we hit some of this stuff for a few miles up in the high elevation on C2C. Last time I was thru here was last week busting powder.

EMTP579 somehow managed to mess up getting on the trail from the road. I was told he "flailed like a fish" and almost fell off and ended up stuck. Dan stuck number 4 [:D] I don't know how this one happened, the rest of us made it thru without even a sled wiggle, even the female in the group. hahaha Dan.. just bustin on ya [thumb]. Thats what friends are for.

We then ended up in Hammond Hill. We chatted for a bit and parted ways. Before we left, Blablond went to start his sled and Malorie was behind him and he didn't know it. This picture is malorie laying on the ground changing her facebook status to "knocked the phuk out".

I was quick draw Mcgraw with the camera to get that one [:p]
We then took C2B to C2 home and we did not hit a bump. I mean it was 90% snow highway for over 15 miles. I stopped real quick and snapped this pic of the guys behind me

That is that... Since I cut out the pictures of the places I have already posted pictures from before... the report is a little shorter. Hope you all enjoyed it. Ride distance was 103 miles for the berkshire group but the more important part was time.. about 9 hours for the berkshire group :)

Driving around in my car today from work showed me that the local trails are showing very poor to unrideable conditions since we had a 39 degree day with sun. I am sure high elevations are fine like what we were riding in most the time but the hard part will be getting to them unless you trailer up there.

Might take the ZRT out tomorrow for a 2 up ride to take my woman out for her 1 ride a year for fun.

Till next time!

For the record, it was a total of 3 stucks - Not 4 haha. I guess I was tired and lacking concentration from working all night the night before. Oh well, it was fun.

Website says "trails are open where conditions permit". That means that trail would be "closed" right now. High elevation trails have over a foot but the valleys is what sucks right now.

I am lucky enough to live off the trail that starts heading up in elevation for about 15-20 miles so I think I am going to get a ride in tomorrow before it is 100% gone all week. I take my woman out for one trip every year (short one). So the ZRT might have 300 lbs on the back of it for a bit tomorrow. No, she is not 300 LOL
