Well, despite my new XLT obsession, I do have a question about my 2 Safaris that I thought maybe you guys could help me with. My 88 takes a few pulls, a few primes, and a bit of throttle to get going when cold. Once its warm, you can shut it down, and start it with a six inch yank on the cord. No problems. MY 89 has electric start, and will fire up and idle smooth right of the bat cold. But once its warm, you basically need to Floor it and crank to get it to run, and even as it starts firing, it bogs and wants to clean out before idling nice again. Is there sometype of choke on the electric start which helps it start cold, but messes it up warm? They have identical engines, but the 89 does run richer, and uses more gas. Hopefully that will be fixed at the shop this year though.
