well, im havin a bad time with an engine i aquired...i just relized that this motor, off a late 70's or early 80's exciter 440 (fan) and one piston is crappy
one side has perfect 120 psi the other barely made 80

[xx(]i looked and there is only one ring remaining on this piston and the top is all crapped up with knicks and gouges and all blackened, this is the pull start side

the other side is immaculate, hardly any wear on teh piston[:)]

the question...do i repair both or just one?
and if it needs it,is it ok to bore one 20 over and leave one stock bore?

true...i got it all apart and it just needs new pistons...everything else is still good. what is a good company to buy from...it seems everyone goes with wiseco, but would factory yamaha pistons be better?
i dont need to bore it over, just hone the walls

oh, btw, is a 1986 skidoo mx a decent, fast, and reliable sled?

If only you would have posted That about a month ago, I just got rid of all the spare parts for that motor, and that motor as well.... I could however double check... I may still have the pistons in the barn (maybe)
