I have a 1997 MXZ 583 and I Was curious how much HP gain I can get from some new pipes? Also with new paipes would I have to adjust the carbs, and one last thing what a good place to buy, and what a good brand of pipes?

Thanks!

Depends on the pipe, but 15-20 % is typical. Carbs setting adjustment will be in order, however nothing too extreme. Can't help w/ brand though, anyone???

Many people have told me that adding pipes to the 583 motor is not a great idea, for the reason that the 583 motor is one of the most reliable engines Bombardier put out, adding pipes would only weaken its reliablity greatly...this is just a rumour I have heard...However, if I was you I'd go ahead with the pipes...they will add great performance gains throughout...reliability is a concern with every mod you make on a sled...thats just part of the game...hope things work out for you...
