Hi, I have an 89 650 triple that occasionaly won't run because of weak spark(I think). Some day's it runs great for hours and then won't restart. When I check the spark it's there but not very strong. Let her sit for a day and boom! big fat spark and away she goes. All the connectors, wiring etc. are clean and unbroken. Any ideas why this happens? It sure isn't the temperature, cold, warm, it doesn't seem to matter at all.

Thanks for any advice!

Agreeance w/ Hotrod, when the CDI heats up it expands allowing the casing to allow more power to "bleed" out the casing. Try running it in PITCH BLACK conditions (if available) and if you see a bit of blue coming from the coil, it's bad. Don't forget to allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness.

I had the exact smae problem w/ my '89 650 at the begining of the season.. I changed the CDI and that was NOT the problem, I checked, re-checked my connection a million times not it either... My bet is on the Stator..
