i would think a stock ultra would take a stock 01 80 rmk in a drag race. any idea what the power output on th eultra is with the PSI pipes?
I hear ya. I gotta say it, ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY ULTRA!!!Originally posted by ultrastud
[br]You'd be surprised the LONG list of sleds your Ultra will "smoke", in fact it'd probably be easier to list the ones it won't smoke!! []

[br]LOL.
modblasters?? When I put those on mine it was a completely different sled. I can't wait to get mine dynoed and see what those few extra cc's I've got do.Originally posted by clemdude
[br]My 96 ultra is finally running killer with PSI pipes. Just layed waste to a stock 2001 800 RMK. Buddy was impressed
$1500 would get you a decent 96-97 Ultra.Originally posted by SSnthe10s
[br]What can i expect to pay for a decent ultra? And what should i look out for if there is anything?
You know that is one of the BIGGEST mis-conceptions in the world of snowmobiling today?? Take into consideration that the 97 Ultra SP wieghs 509 lbs. with the HEAVY stock exhaust, and steel skis. Compare that to some of todays "light" sleds with all the plastic and goodies..Originally posted by clemdude
[br]I have read on this site that an ultra with PSI pipes is in the 150 HP mark. They are heavy and the way this thing runs I would guess that that is a reasonable number. If i knock a bunch more weight off of it it will get that much better. Now all I need to do is lose my canadian beer belly and another 40 pounds will be gone too. but the odds of that weight savings happening are questionable.
i love it ever time you have posted that little weight comparison[Originally posted by ultrastud

Apex GT 554 lbs
Apex ER 551 lbs
Attak 577 lbs
F1000 EFI/LXR 518/542 lbs
F8 EFI/LXR 503/527 lbs
Mach Z 529 lbs
Now slap on a set of cheap plastic skis and a set of aftermarket triples and you have a sled that is compariable in weight to the following..
F6 Sno Pro 495 lbs
F5 EFI 485 lbs
600 HO CFI IQ 485 lbs
MXZ Adrenaline 600 479 lbs
And there you have it, the MYTH has been debunked!! []
