Hi, my 81 Jag (440 Suzuki oil injected) died yesterday on its first real
trip out this year. I think the oil injector went on one piston, when I
removed the top of the cylinder, the piston was badly scored (actually all
pitted and missing chunks) and the cylinder wall is scored as well. The
other piston/cylinder looks OK.

This machine has about 1500 miles, and still looks great, so its not a
junker.

What's the cheapest fix to keep it going for this season? What are my other
options? Is this work I can do (I'm mechanically inclined, but have not tried this before) or best left to the pros?

TIA,
Bob

I think I've made the decision to rebuild it over the summer for next season. I'll use the 80 Jag 340 to finish this season.

thanks for the welcome
