i was riding my xlt triple and it died i got it going again then there was antifreeze all over. i was wondering if i pulled my thermostate what are the pro's and con's of doing this. i have looked everywhere and found no leak areas my top end has no signs of leakage . i was told i may have over heated. please any feed back would be great

Pull your spark plugs and use a flashlight and look down in the cylinders. (you can also make this a lot easier by pulling off your exhaust manifold)

If you see that one of the pistons looks clean while the other 2 look carboned up, or if you can see liquid in anyy of the cylinders, you've got a bad gasket.

If there's no signs of moisture in the cylinders, I'd replace the thermostat.

xlt does not have a thermostat, mabe the newer ones do but yours doesnt

Ummm, no... That's right, no thermostats on those.

Check the water pump belt.
