I just bought a 95 summit 670, sled has about 2500 miles on it. The problem I am having seems to be a flooding condition. The sled usually fires on the 2nd or 3rd pull after sitting for some time, but revs to about 3000 rpm for about 5-10 seconds, then sometimes dies. If I can keep it running, it will idle at 3k. If I let it run for a minute, then restart it then it will idle around 1200, however it intermittently idles higher.
If it does not start right away, then the engine floods ( pull the plugs and they will be wet with gas), and it becomes impossible to start.
I pulled the carbs and cleaned them, one was pretty clean, the other had some green varnish, but just in the bottom of the bowl and the jet, which I cleaned.
I believe it is idling high because it is loading up with fuel, but I can't figure out what is causing the issue. Could it be the HAC? I'm not sure how the HAC is supposed to work, and what impact it could have on the air/fuel mix, or is this something in the carbs?
