New problem.

Got the machine running 100% last night. Now the dash lights are going bright then dim while idling. It has nothing to do with increasing RPM, they just stay bright for a couple mins, then dull down, then bright, etc...

Any ideas?

Is it the CDI starting to fail?

Thanks again guys!

are you blowing bulbs at higher speeds? It could also be the lighting coil in the stator. Definetly check the regulator first though. Try unplugging it.

My 95 xcr 600 does the exact same thing. I havnt traced down the problem yet, figured it was just maybe a short or loose wire.

It's the regulator. What an odd problem. As soon as the regulator was getting slightly warm, all my lights and power was 100%. If I fired up and went, it would almost 15 minutes to have my lights. Simple cheap fix. Thanks again.

check the regulator ground too....it is grounded thu the bolds or rivets on the foot well, with now ground you will get too much voltage and blow bulbs
