I have a blown rear shock and am considering Fox pps shock -Is it a good idea? I tend to ride kind of hard!

you could go that way. or even the ryde fx shock off the 98 xc 600. it was an adjustable shock. and pretty cheap price compared to alot of others.

Is there a down side to the PPS other than they are expensive. The center shock (stock) appears to be ok yet,if I change to Fox pps in back should I go with Fox center as well?

they say the pps shock is very nice shock. it is suppose to have a soft spot for trail riding and then a stiff spot to help prevent bottoming.
