My zr has 6000 miles on it I've replaced ; Waterpump shaft and seal, Rings
at the same time 3000 miles {cuz i heard they were having trouble at 3500}
Clutch, Track, Rebuilt the shocks every other year, and it eats plug boots,they've been replaced a few times.
I added a black Magic chip the second year. I love this sled. Now I'm
having a problem that I can't pinpoint. The sled always starts 2nd pull, you
can take off and everything is good,every once in a while if you let off for
a corner or stop at a sign ,you gas it and it won't run over a 1/4th
throttle. It will accelerate to 70 MPH but not over 1/4 throttle.Any more
than that it bogs You can stop shut it off and wait 1 min. and go again and
its fine sometimes and sometimes not. I've had it to 2 dealers and they
don't know what it is. They both want to try a stator but it tests within
expectable limits so I'm not into spending $400 on a wild guess. Any
ideas?...P.S.Don't even go towards clutching , I put a new clutch and
secondary right out of the box and on the sled and it did nothing
different.Thanx for any help, Spaceman.

My brother has a ZR 600, he loves his too. He just had a problem a week ago, and the problem turned out to be in the exhast valves. He told me that there's cables inside those valves that the computer controls, and somehow they came unhooked.
He reconnected them and it runs like a champ again.

My 98 zl500 was cutting out at random positions of the throttle. Ended up being the throttle position sensor was not working properly. Jumped it out and have been fine ever since.

I think that Captiankirk means the throttle position switch (on the handle bars). I have had the same problem with my 700EFI wildcat.It would work fine up to 1/3rd throttle and at full throttle but totally bog anywhere in between. It was the throttle position sensor. The one on the side of the throttle body. Part #14 /polarisman/../images/users/jasper/95WCC-37_s.gif
