Heres the story i replaced the stator on my 99 ZL 500 EFI before the season, It ran great for the first ride, but when i took it out again it would run fine until i punched it. It would fall flat on its face every time. I ohmed out the new stator and it seems fine (within the ohm ranges). I tried unplugging the kill/TSS switch and had the same problem. I also pulled the reed valves out thinking they one was stuck or broke, they were fine. Im not sure what to look at next can anyone help?
